Godahewa to deliver lecture at UNHRC session

LATE-CITY-DM-1-11Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, who is in Geneva to attend the ongoing UNHRC sessions, was invited by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sukru Guzel, a Human Right Defender from Turkey, to deliver a main lecture on the sidelines of the main sessions on Thursday.   


Prof. Guzel is a permanent representative of a registered organization at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.   


“He acts as a legal counsel and intervenes on behalf of countries which are being allegedly subjected to intimidation of the UNHRC. Prof. Guzel has done an extensive study on the history of the LTTE and the UN resolution (30/1) on Sri Lanka. He will also deliver a main lecture under the theme ‘The need of an international UN mechanism against terrorism’ on Thursday,” Dr. Godahewa said.
