No disciplinary action against errant SLFPers: Prof. Piyadasa

General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa said though the party’s Central Committee scheduled to meet on September 15, it was not likely to take disciplinary action against SLFP Parliamentarians who participated in the ‘Janabalaya Colombata’ protest launched by the Joint Opposition on September 5.

However, Prof. Piyadasa expressed his contempt on those who hooted at the party head office at Darley Road last Wednesday.   


Speaking at the weekly SLFP press briefing he said reorganization of the party and appointment of constituency and district organizers, youth, women and professional executive committees had been completed 90%.   


Prof. Piyadasa expressed his disappointment and displeasure on the sharp deterioration of media ethics and what they disseminate and also on certain professionals like state sector doctors who resorted to trade union action at a drop of a hat.  


He lamented that university education and behaviour and action of university students have been degenerated beyond repair.
