Appropriation Bill that comprises government’s expenditure plan for 2019 is to be presented to Parliament during the first week of October, Parliament sources said yesterday.

When inquired by Daily Mirror,  State Minister of Finance Eran Wickramaratne said it is likely that the Appropriation Bill will be presented during the first week of October when considering the space of time given for the general public to state their objections.

One month is given usually for the general public to state objections. “ If we are planning to have the budget speech on November 8, 2018 the Appropriation Bill will have to be presented during the first week of October,” he said.
