He is not ‘Navy Sampath’ says counsel

Untitled-5At Wednesday’s magisterial inquiry on charges faced by suspect Chandana Prasad Kumara Hettiarachchi that he was connected to the abduction disappearance of 11youths, Counsel Ajith Prasanna appearing for the suspect told Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratna that his client was being described as ‘Navy Sampath’ by the media.   

He requested the Magistrate to take suitable action against the media.   


The Magistrate said, the court had no authority to act on the complaint and ordered that the issue be taken up with the appropriate authorities.
